Just Set My All-Time Record Wait for an Autograph!

Last Wednesday, I received an autograph back for my longest wait ever. I collect baseball players' autographs, and I usually send off about 10 a month.

My longest wait had been 8 years for Darrell Evans c/o his home, but now I have shattered that mark.

I sent off for Kevin Reimer c/o the Texas Rangers in May of 1991. I received it back last week with the 29 cent stamp still affixed (the post office didn't charge me postage due, either). That is a wait of 19 years and 1…

E.g. at the charity soccer match, around the many yachts in the harbor, at the Hugo Boss-Party or at a prêt-a-porter. There is always something an amazement!

Collecting Signed Golf Balls: Tricks of the Trade

As a lifetime collector starting at age seven, my passion for the past two decades has been collecting autographed golf balls from best-loved golfers, famous Hollywood entertainers, notable sports stars, and U.S. presidents. I claim to have one of the largest and most diversified collections of autographed golf balls in America with over 300 inscribed balls in my bag.

Luckily, I've had a pretty easy time in getting celebrities from all walks of life to sign golf balls, but I have run…

Unknown Band-Signed "Meet the Beatles" Album Surfaces in Antiques Auction, Sells for $63,250

Beatles history was made on May 21. On that day, Case Antiques, a regional art and antiques auction house in Knoxville, Tenn., sold a previously unknown "Meet the Beatles" album, signed by the Fab Four.

It wasn't the price that made history. At $63,250 including the buyer's premium, the price was good, considering it was the only music piece offered in an antique and art auction, but not a particularly strong. The Hard Rock auctioned a similar one around a decade ago for about…

Need help in submitting collectibles to authentication companies.

Hey all.  This is my first major submission to an authentication company called "MEARS" and would like to know if anyone has had experience with them.  Also, a general question, if an item fails a company's evaluation, are you entitled for a refund or  are you stuck with it?  I ask this because one of the items I am interested in selling costs $200 for an evaluation and a loss of $200 if it is deemed not authentic would be a huge blow.  Thanks in advance for your time. -Mike

Collecting at Wavy Gravy's Birthday Concert-featuring David Crosby, Graham Nash, Dr. John, Jackson Browne, and more

Tonight at New York's historic Beacon Theatre, a special benefit concert was held in honor of peace activist Wavy Gravy's 75th birthday. An eclectic mix of rock, folk, and blues icons performed in celebration. Naturally, this show presented many opportunities to obtain autographs from the performers.

I arrived at the Beacon around 1:30, right as some of the performers were conducting their sound checks. One of the first notable figures I saw was the birthday celebrant himself. Wavy…

Andre 'The Giant'

Did he sign autographs and what are they worth today?  My kids used to love him and I'd have to take them to the area and watch wrestling.  Andre was my personal favorite.

George Harrison GENESIS signed books Vol.1 and Vol.2

Hi all,

have an enquiry regarding two GENESIS books Songs of George Harrison Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 and hope that in this blog are some experts which have similar books and more experiences.

It's wellknown that both books are limited to 2,500 items with arab numerals but....

Vol. 1 has the low number VII in roman numerals and behind the numbered and signed page is another page reading that there are only 250 items extra for review purposes.

Is it possible or does…
