I’m a big Nirvana fan and I love collectables, so I was very interested to see that the 1959 Martin D-18E guitar he played on the MTV Unplugged show, went up for auction. This Unplugged concert was about half a year before Kurt Cobain killed himself.
There was a rather lengthy…

Over the past 15 years, I have easily posted thousands of blogs/threads on Ebay sellers of forgeries.
As we all know, Ebay is a haven for sellers of forgeries.
For the most part, Ebay does not care.
Forgeries are an easy sell on Ebay because Ebay is so heavily-populated with delusional autograph collectors and impulse buyers,…

I recently ordered 2 signed guitars and 1 LP. The guitars signed by all the members of Led Zeppelin and the LP by all original members of The Guess Who.
They were a gift for my friend in New Jersey who is like a brother to me. You see I'm a 63 year old vet, I'm disabled and in a wheelchair due to dealing with RA for 20 years now along with…

Reliance on third-party authentication has taken on a new meaning in recent times. Some collectors will simply not consider purchasing an autograph without proof that it has received a passing grade from one of the respectable services available. There is also the great debate over stickers. Do collectors prefer them? Do collectors not prefer them? Should they be affixed to the front or back of a photo? Should they be affixed to the actual item, or to a Letter…

Two encounters I had with JSA.
I purchased a NY Giants cap on ebay which had three signatures on it. The seller had sent it to JSA and two of the signatures were on their COA and mentioned in the offering. I purchased the cap, knowing what the third signature was. When I received the cap I called JSA giving them the COA info and a photo of the cap asking if I could send it to them to verify the third signature.
Off it went in the mail. A few weeks later I called and it…

Is anyone aware that the new ownership of Steiner Sports has created a situation on their website that if an old serial hologram number is entered, the number is noted as invalid? There is no way of proving the item is actually an authentic Steiner product. It took hours of phone calls and harassing them to get a manager on the phone. I have sent them photos of items purchased from Steiner Sports in the past. They stated they would look into the matter and get back to me. It's been months…

As autograph collectors, most of us remember our first purchase. If we do not, we remember the first purchase of our favorite person’s autograph. At the time of that purchase, we probably did not expect to add additional autographs of that same person to our collection. Why would we? The purchase of a single autograph was an accomplished mission.
In most hobbies, the question of what people collect is often asked. The question asked of autograph collectors is often more…

Okay, so...maybe that headline of that was a little fib. The card actually sold for $922,500. And of course, we now know that it won’t be long until a card sells for more than the famous Honus Wagner card. It’s amazing to think a card from 2009, which isn’t that long ago, could warrant such a price.
It’s a Mike Trout Red Refractor Autograph, that was graded 9.5 out of 10. The price realized for this rookie card was…
