Do You Sign Autographs at a Hit-and-Run? (Dwight Gooden, of course)

Retired Mets pitcher Dwight Gooden was always getting into trouble. I'd list the things he did, but it would be pages and pages long.

I'll give you the latest, though.

The 45-year-old was driving under the influence of drugs with his 5-year-old child in the car.

And what time do you think it was? Well, it was 9:00 a.m., the time when most of us our doing the liquid drugs they serve up at Starbucks.

He was not only on drugs, but…

R.I.P Robert Culp

Robert Culp passed away the other day at the age of 79.

I interviewed Robert in 2008 at the Chiller convention in New Jersey. He was nice to me but showed some signs of confusion in his answers to my questions. I have quite a few signed items he autographed for me there!

Here is one of his OBITS.

HARRISON FORD...just sent me another autograph....

Well, I simply can't believe my luck. After receiving the signed copy of my Official Indiana Jones Magazine article f( the magazine article featured my Indiana Jones Collection and an Interview with me ) from Harrison, I wrote him again thanking him for his gift to me. I also asked if I could have an 8x10 signed to me since the Magazine was going to be placed away in my safe. I knew that it was a long-shot and that I was probably asking for too much. However, The Indiana Jones and Autograph…

CLASSIC ROCK BANDS are hitting the road this summer!!

Though it is not easy, and in fact it can be almost immpossible, obtaining signatures from many of the classic rock bands and artists is a possibility as many are hitting the road this summer: U2, Eagles, Paul McCartney, Stephen Sills (and CS&N), Tom Petty, Sting, and many others are out on tour. Difficult??......of course it is. However, if they are on the road, then that is where it best can happen. Happy Autographing!

Late Night Autographs -- Letterman, Conan, Aniston

I was catching up on the TMZs I had recorded on my DVR, and I saw that Jennifer Aniston was signing lots and lots of autographs before going into Lettermans show. This has become a place where lots of people now go to wait for the celebs.

I was in New York and saw hundreds waiting to meet Will Smith (he only signed a couple before going in).

It's smart of them to sign, because the cameras are watching. Aniston was signing photos, DVDs, and any item put in front…

Corey Haim Autographs

I was interviewed on a radio station last night talking about the death of Corey Haim. The subject went into childhood actors, and I mentioned the VH1 list of 100 Greatest Childhood Stars, and Corey was #26. The list is a compilation of a lot of trainwrecks -- either dead or drug problems, etc.

Anyway, I just now thought about the time the cast of Lost Boys (about 6 months ago), came to town to sign autographs. It wasn't Corey Feldman and Keifer Sutherland, or even Jason…

R.I.P to Lost Boys actor Cory Haim

The actor from comedy horror film The Lost Boys, and other films, Cory Haim, has passed on , as the report says, from an overdose of drugs.

I never got to meet this young man, but he did attend a few genre conventions on the West Coast.

He will will be missed, what a shame.

Here is one of many links for his OBIT.…

Helen Mirren Rips an Autographed Photo Up and Guess What Sold for $4,500

I couldn't believe when I was switching channels, and caught the end of The O'Reily Factor, hearing that he sold an autographed poster from him and Glenn Beck, for $4,500. Wow. Seriously, that's probably worth 45 cents. And, I'm not just saying that because I don't agree with their politics.

On TMZ, the show to watch for autograph thingies...the gorgeous Helen Mirren, who was nominated for The Last Station (her performance was great, the movie just average). She was signing…

What does a CASINO and a STATE/COUNTY FAIR have in common? Think "AUTOGRAPHS"......

Yes indeed you can feel it in the air. Winter is on its way out and spring is upon us. With spring about to be here and summer soon to follow, we get thick into the concert touring season. Increasingly, two of the BEST places that I have found to nab musical autographs is at both Casino's and State or County Fair's. Many artists take part in pre concert or post concert signings. Also, because of the limited size of these events, access to the tour bus area is much more reasonable. My biggest…

Muhammid Ali & Tim Tebow...Who Charges More?

Living in San Diego, I hear more Padres news than I care to. But out in Peoria, Arizona for the pre-season, the Padres were greeted by boxing legend Muhammad Ali. Tony Gwynn Jr, who has met some big names, seemed thrilled, saying "It's the first time I've ever been star-struck."

Only a few players got autographs of the living legend.

Across the U.S. in Jacksonville, Florida, Tim Tebow, who created a bit of controversy with his Super Bowl commercial, isn't even expected to go…

Oscars and Autographs

Well, the Oscars were given out. And, very few autographs at the big event.

At least, that's what is usually the case.

It was nice to see George Clooney running up and down the chain-link fence and shaking hands and signing a few autographs (he had a Sharpie in his hand).

There were a few other autograph related stories regarding the Oscars, but they completely slip my mind now. Can anyone else add anything?

Lawrence Welk

Signed golf ball #252 will soon be added to my unique autographed golf ball collection. A friend played with the late Lawrence Welk many years ago and had the famous band leader sign a golf ball for him after the round. I now have twenty-three signed golf balls from entertainers such as Bob Hope, Clint Eastwood, Jack Lemmon, Ray Romano, Jack Nicholson, John Denver, Kevin Costner, and Regis Philbin, to name just a few. The entertaining and interesting stories behind many of my celebrity… Continue

"JAWS" the 1975 blockbuster film that today is a treasure of internet autographed memorabilia.

http://www.jawsfan.com/

Everyone has their favorite movie of all time. Thankfully, living in the internet age, we can go back in time and learn so much more of these films today, than we ever thought we knew when the film came out. Besides IMDB and other information sites, there are many fan tribute sites to some of the best movies ever made. These are the sites that I like to visit, as you get a very personal tribute to these movies of…

Autographed Drum Heads

One of the coolest items of Rock and Roll Memorabilia to get signed, are DRUM HEADS. Drum Heads, as far as instruments are concerned, are one of the easiest items to carry around as you are working on your autographing quest, leaves plenty of room for multiple band members or inscriptions, and once finished store very well, and/or frame very easy. Try using BLUE ink for your signatures (longest lasting color) and for me, frosted heads over the clear ones.…

David Letterman Signs an Autograph That Will be Gone Soon

I'm not a big fan of Leno. Well, he is great about signing autographs. I just don't think he's got great comedic instincts.

On his first day back behind the Tonight Show desk (and a funny bit he did in which they look for a new desk by going door to door), he actually had a funny show.

Jamie Fox opened a bottle of champage and handed it to a woman in the audience.

Over on Letterman, his friend Bill Murray game out with crutches. He joked about a…

Cop Out -- The Memorabilia Movie Out Now!

Okay, okay. It's really a parody of the buddy-cop movies of the 80s. And, it's a nice pairing to have the very funny Tracy Morgan, and Bruce Willis, the man who's played a cop in over 100 movies (or so it seems).

It was okay. It had enough laughs that I didn't mind seeing it. It could've been so much better, though.

Anyway, the cool thing is that to pay for his daughters wedding, Willis is going to sell a 1952 Topps baseball card of Brooklyn Dodger Andy Pofko.…
