Here's a piece I found on the Coach's Corner Auction site headed by Scott Malack & Lee Trythall.
It's a 8X10 piece that includes autographs of the original eleven (11) members of the "500 Homerun Club." The piece is authenticated by Drew Max (AAU). Mr. Max calls himself a Forensic Document Examiner.
All eleven (11) autographs are horrific forgeries. …

I recently purchased a binder with ball cards and some photos from a lady whose son attended the basketball camps Achievements Unlimited here in NC in mid 1990s where Michael Jordan was there. I also have a photo from the camp with MJ in middle. There are 4 Jordan autographs ...2 on white pieces of paper given to campers where the NBA players signed...these have got to be legit... The 2 nicer pictures ..I think might be facsimiles but am unsure how to tell...The autographs look too…

Over the past few days I have been re-reading Operation Bullpen, the story of the Marino Family Forgery Ring and how the FBI took them down. The last time I read it was several years ago.
Something that really struck me this time around was how self-conscious the ring was about their product being “high quality” and how nervous they got when “someone…

I was layed off from my job about 3 months ago, so I have plenty of spare time to surf ebay for autographs. Now I don't claim to be an expert but I doubt it takes an expert to recognize that these sellers are selling fake autographs on eBay.
Here is the list, and a brief description of what they are selling, check the sellers current and completed auctions for plenty of examples. No COA's are ever shown in these auctions and if they are, they are on eBay's banned list or a made-up…

CIMG0678.JPGHello everyone,
I have just signed up to this magazine, more out of curiosity, but also with the hope of
finding someone here in the UK (or worldwide) who may be able to assist me.
Many years ago I lived in Austria and in 1978 went to a concert with the famous pianist Oscar Peterson.
After the concert I met up with the artist and he kindly signed…

I sent a autograph to get a C.O.A to PSA/DNA . It came back with 9 things they said were wrong with it and it was not good .I personally had this item autographed 5 years ago by the athlete. The only reason I sent this was I would like to sell it and thought it would be easier to sell and worth more with a C.O.A., boy was I wrong!!!! It cost me close to a $100 and got nothing!!. Has anyone else had this problem or am I the only one? Or was the guy who signed this at a local Radio station…

Josh Brolin, who does a great impersonation of Tommy Lee Jones in the latest Men and Black (which is also a great movie; take it from me, I'm a film critic).
Brolin was talking about all the various countries he has been going to for premieres and walking the red carpet. Brolin said people will yell out for his autograph, and he'll sign. They'll then look down at the paper and say "What's your name?" He found that hysterical, that somebody would ask for your autograph, and not even…

Aerosmith and Ronald Reagan -- The two best autograph stories I've heard in weeks!
In Las Vegas I read in a local paper, about an Aerosmith concert. A guy with a fake leg (sorry, I can't spell that other word), was holding it up in the crowd (next to all the folks that hold their lighters when a classic ballad like Dream On is played). The drummer (I believe his name is Joey Kramer...I met him once in L.A. and he's a short dude, not very friendly...but he signed my CD). He asked for…

Just recently on Ebay, one seller ($1gem) listed four Walter Johnson signed postcards.
Ebay seller $1gem listed four Walter Johnson signed postcards. One already sold for $487.00. The other three are presently (May 21, 2012) listed on Ebay.
Below are photographs of all four Walter Johnson signed postcards. All four were authenticated by Drew Max, who calls himself a Forensic Document Examiner (FDE). I also found it interesting that all…

how much does a personal inscription devalue an autograph? I just read that it devalues an autograph if it has a personalinscription on it - (ie. to Jane...Mick Jagger) - Does it devalue an autograph significantly or is it just a minimal amount ? Wondering here in relation to an investment value standpoint. ty - all replies appreciated !
