I am tired of reading about crooked auctioneers and how they prey on the sports hobby. I understand collector's frustrations. Auctioneers do need to take responsibility for what they sell period end of story. I appreciate all of the folks who take their time out to alert the unsuspecting buyers of these forgeries. My concern is I continue to see posts and discussions about local auction houses that mean well. I am sorry, but if you have a room full of autographs and you did not wonder about…

they are holding an auction tomorrow (Sunday 5/13/2012) on LIVEAUCTIONEERS.COM.
A number of items are Babe Ruth signed balls, Lou Gehrig signed ball box, Ty Cobb signed ball box and a 1927 Yankee team signed bat (Ruth, Gehrig et al). There are COAs on a couple of the items from ahhhhhh ACE but none on the bat.
I emailed them asking if there was any paperwork on the bat and they said no - so, I asked what happens if it fails PSA/DNA or JSA. Their terse reply was no refunds of…

As many of us know, Ebay has done a decent job removing forgeries from their auction site over the past twelve months, but during that time the forgers and sellers of forgeries have found other outlets to sell their forgeries of Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Whitey Ford, etc.
Over the past year or so, these forgeries have made their way into local auctions and these local auctions are springing up all over the country.
Numerous sellers of forgeries sometimes use an…

It might of been the only ever, public autograph chance to get Davy Jones and Maureen McCormick at the same time, in the 40 years since this iconic photo and scene was filmed:
Instead, it was not to be and can never be brought together again. It all was to happen last February 11th and 12th at The Hollywood Show, in Burbank, Ca. Already…

While browsing this website today, I noticed the number of Jimi Hendrix forgeries that seem to be floating around out there, and they are horrendous. A number of people were asking others if they could possibly authenticate their autograph, so I hope this may help in some way.
I received a Jimi Hendrix autograph on June 19, 1969 on a stairwell of Toronto's Old City Hall during a recess in Jimi's trial for heroin possession which I attended that day. Seems he was busted at…

It was over two years ago when I started seeing some very odd-looking Derek Jeter autographs on Ebay. I had never seen that particular style Derek Jeter autograph before. At the time, that style of Derek Jeter autograph was only being listed by one Ebay seller, and the common denominator was that all of them were authenticated by Global Authentics (whose lead authenticator is Steve Sipe) and the now defunct GAI.
My first thought was "Did Derek change his…

I have a really nice autographed 1950 New York Yankees team sheet with 17 New York Yankees signatures and two broadcaster signatures after the Yankees won the 1950 World Series over the Philadelphia Phillies which has been authenticated by PSA. I am not sure what the value is but would appreciate any assistance. The signatures include: Casey Stengel, Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto, Allie Reynolds, Joe Page, Billy Martin, Whitey Ford, Joe Dimaggio, Jack Jensen, Johnny Mize, Tommy Heinrich, Bobby…

Dear all
Since I am new here, I would like to know if anyone good on sports can comment on this?
This is posted on AACS autographs and I have understood that there are questions about their music autographs. Before bid on this I would like to know if anyone with NHL knowledge can comment on this one?
The cost of importing stuff to Europe is costly and I don not want to do it if there is any doubt about the autographs.
Many thanks in advance from Sweden
