Latest Michael Jackson Signed Item -- Autographed by his Kids!!!

On CNN's Headline News, I just saw an interview with these people that are selling a Michael Jackson tribute belt. It's going to retail for $1,500.

And to promote the thing, they have one belt that was signed by the Jackson family. This INCLUDED his three children (Blanket could barely spell out his name). This is going to be auctioned off Thursday online, with the money supposedly going to the family foundation.

Wow. Exploiting the kids in any way like this…

Sex and the City 2

Don't see this movie. It's awful.

I hated the first one, and have found that so many women loved it. It baffles me.

And I was a big fan of the show!

There is one scene where a guy, who became a movie star in the first one (and Kim Cattral slept with, of course)...he shows up with a big movie he's promoting in New York. At the after-party, he's talking with Cattral, and a fan comes up and asks for his autograph.

Autographed BaseBall Cards: Calling on all you experts...............

Some of you know, but for those that don't, I am an all volunteer umpire and rules instructor for Little League Baseball for the past 14 seasons. I umpire games all over So. California. Many people in my leagues know too that I collect Rock and Roll autographs. So they put 2 and 2 together and ask me over the years about autographed Baseball Cards. I must confess to them that the only autographed baseball cards I have, in spite of my extreme love for both BB and autographs, are from Steve…

Expensive Paintings, Expensive Coin

When I read the newspaper this morning at 6 a.m., half asleep, two stories caught my eye.

A silver dollar from the late 1700s sold, for over $7 million dollars. Some collector had owned it for seven years and decided to sell.

There was also a story about an art gallery in Paris that had a big robbery. Apparently, the alarm system hadn't been working since March. The thief did that move where they cut the paintings out of the frames, and left the frames…

Jonah Hill on an Airplane

Jonah Hill was on David Letterman the other night, to talk about his latest film "Get Him to the Greek" (it was funny, but could've been better).

He talked about a guy next to him smacking him in the face. The guy was sleeping and he woke him up. This passenger explained he had "night terrors" when he went to sleep and he apologized (before falling back asleep). It was hsyterical. You wonder why if someone doesn't have a condition like that, they avoid sleeping on a plane. Or,…

Pre Concert Autograph Packages: Why not, they sell everything else.

In this age of VIP concert tickets, pre-concert dinner parties, and merchadise that used to be just t-shirts and programs but now includes jackets, underwear, mugs, caps, jewlrey and even condoms (yes, I bought some KISS condoms at a concert in Anaheim several years ago), why I ask are these artists not selling pre-concert autograph signing packages? These artists are still on tour for many reasons, but seemingly those that are making a living by these touring bands will tell you a concert…

NASCAR'S Jimmie Johnson......signture variations.

I have just added a discussion about the 4 time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion's signture structure and signing habits. I wanted to get this information out because of some recent problems where a couple of Non-NASCAR specific authenticators have been failing authentic Jimmie Johnson signatures. You can find that discussion here…

Suns Fan Gets Thrown Out, Gets Autographed Basketball

This is the best story ever. First, because I thought it was insane that the Phoenix Suns, in a playoff game no less, wore shirts against the immigration bill. Second, because they handled the situation poorly.

I heard the guy talking on 570 AM in LA, and he seemed like a cool guy, not just someone trying to score some freebies.

When the Suns came up with the decision to wear "Los Suns" to protest the new immigration law (I wondered why it wasn't "Los…

Springsteen, Stern, Travolta -- all signed this week

I just typed a long post on this, and for some reason, it didn't show up.

Bruce Springsteen was signing as he left an event. I saw him sign a Born to Run album, which not only is a classic album...lots of white space so the signature would show up nicely.

Howard Stern, who often walks while he signs, is in LA with his wife. She's doing lots of shows promoting her new book on dogs.

And John Travolta, always one of the best signers in…

Ebay for Autographs? Instead, Ebay for Memorabilia to get Autographed.

Ebay as we all know, has its serious limitations when it comes to authentic autographs. However, I as a collector have used Ebay since 1999 as a source of finding some really rare and collectable items as a means of getting such rare goodies and memorabilia signed at a later point in time. Case in point:

Last February Helen Reddy was doing a one day signing in Burbank, Ca. Where else would I have found the 7 Helen Reddy albums that I brought to her to get autographed? Last…

When Athletes Leave the City They Got Famous in

When I was in 6th grade, I wanted to go to this basketball camp that Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar were putting on. When my mom told me to call them and find out how much it was -- the $250 made her say "Absolutely not!"

As I got into autographs in the years that followed, I always wondered about athletes that do these sports camps in the city they play in. Some do them in the city they grew up in. Other athletes do golf events or other charity…

A.J. McLean of Back Street Boys

On TMZ last night, their cameras caught former Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean. He was signing a few autographs in the crowd and was asked, "What's the craziest thing you've ever had to sign?" He responded, "One night before one of my shows, I signed 15 condoms."

I just Googled his name and on his website, it says you can buy a VIP ticket at his concert, which gets you into a meet-and-greet with him, one photo, and one item you can get autographed.

It all reminds me…

Rob Zombie Collectables

Rob Zombie, the former metal guru from White Zombie, has seemed to get more into movies (House of 1,000 Corpses, Halloween, etc). I always love reading interviews with him, because he is really into collecting things.

I'm bummed that when I saw him at NAMM in Anaheim years ago, I didn't have him autograph anything.

Anyways...in a Spin Magazine from April, they had him in the "In My Room" segment, where they show a photo of him in a room, and 10 things are listed…

Tiger Woods and Picasso (both seem to like breasts)

I heard that a Pablo Picasso sold for $106 million. Wow. It's such a shame that so many artists die poor, and their paintings make millions after they die. Not that Picasso was one of those artists that was poor, but still.

The expensive item that caught my eye, was when someone that lives near me put some golf clubs of Tiger Woods on eBay, for a minimum bid of $250,000. My first thought was -- yeah, good luck with that.

The irons and wedges were used (according…

Iron Man and MacGruber Autographs

I just saw Iron Man 2, and they have two scenes with autographs being signed. I like that nowdays, when they do a super hero movie, autographs are usually a part of it; because if you think about it, why wouldn't people be asking Superman for his autograph? The guy was huge. Okay, well...not as huge as the Hulk. And, the Hulk probably wasn't a good signer. He got angry a lot, and probably broke a few pens.

(have TMZ on right now, and Hugh Jackman is signing autographs in the…

TV Hosts and Autographs

I saw the sold-out Conan O'Brien show in San Diego, which he cleverly titled the "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour."

San Diegan, and national touring singer, Jason Mraz was the music guest. Not as cool as Pearl Jam in Seattle, but he's had a few big hits (but boy "Remedy" an annoying song).

We didn't ask for his autograph before the show, because we weren't sure it was him. After the show, he gave high fives to the 100 of us waiting near…
