I found out a musician died this morning, and two frustrating autograph stories involving him, popped into my brain.
John Wetton, the 67 year old bassist and singer, is the one that passed away. They say it was related to colon cancer, but he had problems in the past with…

There was a story I read in one of the newspapers last week. It was all about autograph shops and memorabilia places. Of course, my interest was piqued. Unfortunately, it only dealt with one kind of autograph -- Donald Trump. Specifically, the fact that he's now "President Trump" (no matter how you feel about him, you gotta admit...it's weird saying "President…

A handful of autograph stories popped up all in the same day for me yesterday. In the morning, I had a movie screening to go to of The Comedian, where Robert De Niro plays a stand-up comedian that used to have a successful sitcom. It’s got a stellar cast (Harvey Keital, Danny…

I have a love/hate relationship with TMZ. I watch it a lot because they’re funny, but I also think what they do is a bit weasly. One of my justifications to the wife on why I have it on, is because they sometimes show celebrities signing autographs, and it might possibly be fodder for one of these…

It seemed like just yesterday that there was controversy when a college football stud -- Mr. Football -- Johnny Manziel was selling his autograph in a hotel room. You see, college athletes aren’t allowed to make money off their name, and the Texas A&M quarterback and Heisman winner, broke the NCAA…

The last time I wrote about Mark Hamill in regards to autographs, it was after a series of autographs were popping up showing very funny, and sometimes inappropriate, things he inscribed. It’s something I wish more celebs would do. I’ve had my share that wrote something funny in the inscription, but…

I have a lot of autograph dreams. Over the years, I'd say I've had about 25 (that I can remember). Now, I'm not talking about an upcoming person I'm going to get. I've had so many times where I was going to interview somebody famous, or meet them at the venue...I didn't have a dream about that. I'm not sure why, but I only have dreams about getting autographs from dead celebrities. It's friggin' baffling to me. Not sure what Freud would say about that.
Last night, I had a dream that I…

So, we’ve all talked (or thought) about how horrible it is that autograph dealers capitalize on the death of celebrities. I suppose many will think it’s horrible when I say this. Certainly all my friends did when I talked about Prince dying earlier this year.
It’s hard…

I wrote about the story back when Christina Grimmie of “The Voice” was shot at an Orlando venue after a concert, while she was signing autographs for fans. The latest is that her family is suing the promotional company and venue where she was killed. I find it hard to believe that AEG Live or the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Plaza Foundation, which owns the venue, will lose this suit. When somebody brings a gun…

Let me start by saying I am not a scientist. I have been collecting for decades, in that time I have purchased autographs, done TTM requests, traveled to conventions, and hit the streets in search of every possible signature that I wanted. I consider myself to be pretty successful at this hobby, and for years my answer to one question has been the same.
What's the best pen to use for an autograph? For 2 decades my answer has been a blue permanent overhead transparency marker called…

I once did a quick interview with Batman star Adam West when he was doing an appearance at Comic Con in San Diego. I saw that later that day he’d be selling autographed photos with his Robin sidekick Burt Ward. I joked with his manager, “I’d like to snag one of those pictures.”…

Watching different Star Wars actors sign autographs for the last few decades, I started trying to figure out the numbers. How many pieces have been signed? How much value should be attached to each autograph? What are the prices that these actors charge vs. what the actual value should or could…

These are two topics I’ve brought up before, but different things about those topics.
First, is Bruce Springsteen. I did a blog where I complained about a member here not helping me get his signature when my fiancee and I went to see him in L.A. (he got the Boss, I didn’t; I was on the wrong side of the sports arena when he came in and signed for fans). I liked to think autograph…

I thought it would be fun to talk about lawsuits involving autographs, because of something I heard on the radio.
Now, this isn’t the type of lawsuits you’d think regarding the autograph industry. It’s not about suing a company that deals in forgeries. This was a weirder case, and it got me thinking of what other types of lawsuits there have been in the industry.…

It has been a November to remember, indeed. The month started off by seeing the Alan Parsons Project Live. A good friend of mine bought a front row ticket and the meet and greet package for Alan. I believe it was like 90 dollars, which is pretty good considering most meet and greets are $100 and that doesn’t include the ticket! Anyway, he also bought…

Of all the various autographs I have, it’s my signed album and CD collection I cherish most. That means I can’t resist looking at various things people are selling, usually cringing at how expensive everything is.
Of all the bands in music, and I’ve seen them all, the groups that have the most forged signatures are: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Eagles. Now, don’t get me…
