A handful of autograph stories popped up all in the same day for me yesterday. In the morning, I had a movie screening to go to of The Comedian, where Robert De Niro plays a stand-up comedian that used to have a successful sitcom. It’s got a stellar cast (Harvey Keital, Danny…

I have a love/hate relationship with TMZ. I watch it a lot because they’re funny, but I also think what they do is a bit weasly. One of my justifications to the wife on why I have it on, is because they sometimes show celebrities signing autographs, and it might possibly be fodder for one of these…

It seemed like just yesterday that there was controversy when a college football stud -- Mr. Football -- Johnny Manziel was selling his autograph in a hotel room. You see, college athletes aren’t allowed to make money off their name, and the Texas A&M quarterback and Heisman winner, broke the NCAA…

The last time I wrote about Mark Hamill in regards to autographs, it was after a series of autographs were popping up showing very funny, and sometimes inappropriate, things he inscribed. It’s something I wish more celebs would do. I’ve had my share that wrote something funny in the inscription, but…

I have a lot of autograph dreams. Over the years, I'd say I've had about 25 (that I can remember). Now, I'm not talking about an upcoming person I'm going to get. I've had so many times where I was going to interview somebody famous, or meet them at the venue...I didn't have a dream about that. I'm not sure why, but I only have dreams about getting autographs from dead celebrities. It's friggin' baffling to me. Not sure what Freud would say about that.
Last night, I had a dream that I…

So, we’ve all talked (or thought) about how horrible it is that autograph dealers capitalize on the death of celebrities. I suppose many will think it’s horrible when I say this. Certainly all my friends did when I talked about Prince dying earlier this year.
It’s hard…

I wrote about the story back when Christina Grimmie of “The Voice” was shot at an Orlando venue after a concert, while she was signing autographs for fans. The latest is that her family is suing the promotional company and venue where she was killed. I find it hard to believe that AEG Live or the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Plaza Foundation, which owns the venue, will lose this suit. When somebody brings a gun…

I once did a quick interview with Batman star Adam West when he was doing an appearance at Comic Con in San Diego. I saw that later that day he’d be selling autographed photos with his Robin sidekick Burt Ward. I joked with his manager, “I’d like to snag one of those pictures.”…

These are two topics I’ve brought up before, but different things about those topics.
First, is Bruce Springsteen. I did a blog where I complained about a member here not helping me get his signature when my fiancee and I went to see him in L.A. (he got the Boss, I didn’t; I was on the wrong side of the sports arena when he came in and signed for fans). I liked to think autograph…

I thought it would be fun to talk about lawsuits involving autographs, because of something I heard on the radio.
Now, this isn’t the type of lawsuits you’d think regarding the autograph industry. It’s not about suing a company that deals in forgeries. This was a weirder case, and it got me thinking of what other types of lawsuits there have been in the industry.…

Of all the various autographs I have, it’s my signed album and CD collection I cherish most. That means I can’t resist looking at various things people are selling, usually cringing at how expensive everything is.
Of all the bands in music, and I’ve seen them all, the groups that have the most forged signatures are: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Eagles. Now, don’t get me…

When I heard Florence Henderson died this morning, it was right before I was set to go on the radio and do my movie reviews for the weekend. I mentioned how The Brady…

If you had to pick which Minnesota Vikings player you’d want a photo from -- it might be Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton. An action shot of him running for his life to not get sacked. It might be Adrian Peterson, the current running back, who is always the top in the lead in rushing.…

When the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Championship last year, that assured Lebron James a special place in basketball history. It also assured the team a trip to the White House. That’s got to be a lot more special, considering the fact that the President is a hardcore hoops fan.
Oddly enough, the Cavs trip to the White House happened the same day president-elect Trump had an hour…

OHIO.
It was on my mind a lot yesterday (that almost sounds like a Ray Charles song). I was talking to a friend about a Fantasy Football controversy we were having (believe me, as I write that, I realize how nerdy that makes me sound). He screamed into the phone, “Oh my god! Trump just won Ohio. This election is all over.”
That was four hours before it was…

Harry Potter memorabilia goes for a lot. I’m guessing the cast of the movie is sick of signing Potter photos everywhere they go.
Actress Emma Watson, who played Hermione (and had such a hysterical turn in This is the End, and terrific role in The Perks of Being a Wallflower) did something…

One of the great things about the late night shows (aside from the terrific humor of Jimmy Kimmel), is when celebrities tell stories, and talk of signing autographs arises.
The other night, Elijah Wood was on one of the shows. He said, “I just hate signing autographs. I hate it, but I can’t say no. These people come up to me, and I know they’re going to just sell these things, but I…

I always get a kick out of stories where one celebrity asks another for an autograph. The last blog I wrote dealt with Phil Collins and his bad experience asking Sir Paul McCartney for a signature. This latest story, worked out a lot better for the person requesting an autograph.…

Phil Collins has something in common with Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson. They’re the only three musicians to have sold over 100 million albums as both a solo artist and prominent member of a band.
Collins has a more interesting connection to Paul McCartney. In the 1964 movie “A Hard Day’s Night”....Collins, as a young boy, can be seen as an extra.
He’s…
