Hollywood Autographs -- The Penis Edition

As a movie critic, I feel it's my duty to alert you readers when there's a clever autograph scene in a movie. And I saw what might go down as the funniest you'll ever see. In the new comedy by Adam Samberg -- Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping -- he plays a pop star that's a bit down on his luck. (you can read my review here:…

April and May Have Been Okay For Music Graphs

Adding to the music collection has gone pretty well for the past 6 weeks or so.

In mid-April I got to shoot one of my favorite bands, The Darkness.  I actually got to do an email interview with Frankie, the bass player.  The last thing in my list of questions was the remark:  Feel free to add anything else.  To which he responded:  A Bottle of Grey Goose Vodka, please.

Well, I figured I would call his bluff and when I shared my interview with his publicist, I told her I would…

The Sweetest Autograph Story You'll Ever Read -- Captain America/Iron Man Edition

You hate when the news is turned on, or you open the newspaper, and it’s filled with bad news. You sometimes think of the cliche “If it bleeds, it leads.” But there was a story in the San Diego Union-Tribune the other day that warmed my heart. I was even more thrilled when I saw the byline. It was…

George Zimmerman's Gun, Thomas Jefferson's Hair -- Which Would You Want?

I’ve never liked the idea of buying hair. Wait...I should probably explain that. I’m not talking about the way Elton John bought hair for $28,000 and had it surgically attached to his head. I’d certainly consider that, if I didn’t end up looking like Donald Trump…

Def Leppard

I've never been the biggest Def Leppard fan. Well, scratch that. I was in 8th grade when their big album Pyromania came out. My older brother bought me the album for Christmas and I loved it. It had the hits "Foolin'""Too Late For Love" and "Rock of Ages", as well as "Photograph." (my favorite song wasn't one of the hits, but "Rock Rock (Till You…

Angry Amy Schumer vs Idiot With a Camera

I’ve long told the fellow autograph collectors, that the worst thing for the hobby is the fact that everyone has a camera on their phone. Instead of famous people being asked to sign a few autographs when they’re recognized, they now have to stand around taking selfies with everyone, and…

SEARCHING FOR KURT COBAIN III :)

In my search for Kurt Cobain autographs, I have search all over the world to find it. Lately there have been a few Kurt Cobain signed CDs with cool inscription that are being offer from UK by 2 different sellers on the bay.

Here are the pictures of the 2 Kurt Cobain’s signed CDs.

BB King

Hi all,

I have to sell an autopragh of the great BB King (at the 10th position of the 'most wanted') but I don't know how much I must ask.

I get it on 1985 at Jazz festival in Nice, France.

Someone can help me?

Thanks a lot to all!

Maurizio…

Movies and Autographs -- The Elvis & Nixon Edition

I had a few movie related autograph things I was going to mention. The first was about the Harrison Ford Star Wars jacket he autographed and sold for charity. Yet I saw that somebody on this site wrote about that.

So, a few autograph things in recent movies.

In an indie movie called "High-Rise" Tom Hiddleston plays a guy that moves into a high rise that has…

A Pretty Good Week For Graphs

What a hectic but fun week for me.

Last Saturday, Blue Oyster Cult played a small venue in Akron for two shows.  In a previous blog, I stated that I wasn't going to try for them since I was 0 for 2 in trying to get them after the show and Buck and Eric basically ignored everyone there.

A friend of mine had some previous success getting them before the…

A Huge Fist Fight Over an Autograph

I met a guy at a party 10 years ago, who “managed” Vince Neil, the singer of Motley Crue. By manage, it had something to do with race cars. This guy was a gearhead, and Neil was really into that. He lined up various race cars and celebrity races for Neil. He told me if I wanted his autograph, he’d…

Autographed Hats -- Why Would Anybody Want One?

A few weeks ago I posted the video of Kyle Busch being stuck in traffic and seeing a woman next to him wearing his hat. He honked, she freaked, and he signed the hat from his car. It was a wonderful moment, but it got me thinking about autographed hats. I've never liked them. It's for the same reason I don't like autographed shirts -- you can't wear them any more!

I…

Who to trust?

I'm new to this site, so hope I'm using it correctly.  Seems every time I find a reputable company or authentication service, I find information that denounces it.  This even includes PSA/DNA which I assumed to be the gold standard of authentication services.  Roger Epperson, seems legit, then I find a lawsuit with email thread in which he gets nasty and doesn't honor his own guarantee.  Then there's Antiquities in Las Vegas, which seems a high end reputable store in business for many years…

What Happens When You Die? (to your autographs) -- Don Drysdale Edition

You know what I’ve given a lot of thought to over the years? What happens to my collection of autographs and sports/movie/music memorabilia when I die. Since I only have one kid, I just assumed she’d get it all. The problem is...I don’t want her getting ripped off if she decides to sell things. Let’s…

Signing Autographs in Cars -- the Kyle Busch, Johnny Depp Edition

I know, the title of this blog sounds like a Jerry Seinfeld show.

I remember when the Lakers acquired future Hall of Famer Steve Nash. Anybody that knew basketball, knew it was a horrible move. He was old, and injury prone. Yet once he joined the team, he was on the freeway and saw people with a Lakers bumper sticker. He honked at them (he wasn't driving, his friend was). They freaked out when they saw him, and there's video of them handing him a beer, while both cars were traveling…

Shoe Collectors -- the Stephen Curry and Joe Walsh Ediition

I’ve been playing basketball for almost 40 years. As a kid, aside from playing it, I loved getting autographs after Clippers games (back when they were in San Diego). Most of the big name stars would walk right by you to climb onto the team bus. My…

Music News -- From Beatles to Bieber

Well, last week was the Bruce Springsteen stuff. I found out I was the only person at the L.A. show that wanted his autograph and didn’t get it. One person had his arm signed. I’m not sure why. Perhaps he’ll get it tattooed. Another kid got lucky. He held up a sign asking for a note from Bruce for his…

Musical Update plus a guitar question

One of my favorite vocalists, Geoff Tate from Queensryche, brought his new band- Operation: Mindcrime to Cleveland.  I got approved to shoot/review the show and I was hoping to meet Geoff after the show so I brought three albums with me just in case.

Much to my surprise, I got free meet and greet passes along with my photo pass!  It pays to be nice to the…

I Hate Autograph Collectors (and that probably includes you)

I've really gotten disillusioned with autograph collectors over the years. Let me explain all my anger in this blog.

Most recently, a few autograph collectors were going to the Bruce Spingsteen concerts in Los Angeles. I wanted to meet up with them, buy 'em lunch, and talk about our best scores and biggest disappointments. It's sharing those stories that makes this website so much fun.

One person didn't get back to me. Another said, "I'm going to be on the autograph hunt all…
