I wrote about Gene Wilder for Autograph back when you could find it on newsstands. I thought I’d share that story, and a little more, about my one experience with the comedic genius.
Having been born in 1969, my favorite Wilder comedies as a kid were…

Hi,
I'm new to this forum, I'm a big fan of Bruce Lee, I've just been looking on the RR September auction remarkable rarities preview, I came across by far one of the best Bruce Lee pieces I have seen come on to the market in recent years:
Fully PSA authenticated and with provenance from the Lee family- Bruce Lee’s multi-signed handwritten essays and vocabulary assignments removed from his high school dictation book used while attending St. Francis Xavier’s College in Kowloon…

Mac... they said you escaped. I knew you wouldn't leave without me. I was waiting for you. Now we can make it, Mac; I feel big as a damn mountain.
Oh, no...
I'm not goin' without you, Mac. I wouldn't leave you this way... You're coming with me.
Let's go.…

I like to write about various auction items that might appeal to the autograph collector, and it seems each week there’s a new one.
A few weeks ago, a number of Muhammad Ali items were listed to come up in auction. The 1974 WBC heavyweight belt, as well as a handwritten letter about his conversion to Islam. That would be an amazing piece, especially if it were signed “Cassius Clay.”…

In entertainment news, Jay Z got into a little trouble for pushing a fan that he felt got a little too close to his wife Beyonce. They were in Manhattan at a screening of the boxing movie “Hands of Stone” (side note: I saw it, and it’s pretty good; if you’re a boxing fan, don’t miss it). They’re friend Usher plays Sugar Ray Leonard [side note: Sugar Ray has always been a good autograph signer, often adding a smiley…

I've been shooting and reviewing concerts for 2 years and it's been great. Getting to be that close to the stage, even for only 3 songs, is an awesome experience. Hanging out after the show to try and catch the artists for an autograph is fun and talking with other collectors and hearing great stories makes it worth while, even if you don't always get the autograph.
This summer has been pretty good as far as adding to my collection. Here's what I did over summer vacation.
My…

I’m not much of a country music fan. The closest I get is Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. Yet I’ve found that country musicians are among the best autograph signers (according to my friends and fellow collectors that meet them). One example is Garth Brooks.
There were a few years in a row, where he’d play with the San Diego Padres during their pre-season workouts in Arizona. Brooks would…

No matter how you feel about Donald Trump politically...or how you feel about his hair...or his horrible reality shows...etc etc etc...there’s one thing we can all agree on. The dude has a cool autograph. Now, if you want a signed copy of his “The Art of the Deal,” you can go to his main website and…

I know he just won the Stanley, but I'm thinking Mario must have opened his own memorabilia store on ebay. That's the only thing that can explain this guys stuff.

There were three autograph things today relating to athletes, so I thought I’d slap out a little blog about them.
The first came when I woke up, turned on the TV, and saw a commercial with Rams running back Todd Gurley. He’s not a guy I like, but for the stupidest of…

Astute collectors know that crooked sellers use phony proof pictures to sell their fakes all the time. They steal images from other signings, pluck a photo from an internet search, and so on.
These so-called proof pictures rarely prove anything, but in this case, it proves the item is a fake, or at least, it is not the same photo that is being offered!
Here is a photo supposedly signed by Joe DiMaggio, Whitey Ford, Billy Martin and Mickey Mantle.…

So I have a huge issue with PSA and I also am trying to figure out what is written on this basketball""A quick background of the situation: I started collecting when I was 5 but nothing too extravagant until around 23 yrs old (8 years ago). Unfortunately, a contractor got me for over $90k and I need money to finish my home so I have been selling away my…

As a movie critic, I got to the movie screenings a week or two before the films open. I get invited to the screenings in L.A. where the cast usually appear, but...I’m 100 miles away in San Diego. There’s something about driving that far, and dealing with Los Angeles traffic, that doesn’t seem so…

So, I just moved into a new place. It's always fun when you do that, to go through all your autographs and admire the things you've acquired over the years.
Anyway, I have about 100 albums...well, maybe 50...that I bought from an estate sale. They're all autographed "To Bill" or "Bill." They're usually followed by something along the lines of "best wishes" but usually, more like "Thank you so much for all of your support."
There are some big, big names in this collection, from…

I occasionally do blogs where I tell autograph stories that I see in movies or on TV shows, so...here are the latest.
In the new Woody Allen movie -- Cafe Society -- it takes place in the ‘30s. There’s lots of talk about the old movie stars of…

What's Going On In The Deep Waters of The Vast Autograph Ocean
In a monthly post I will try to go over some things observed in the industry. Feel free to comment, agree or disagree. Some points may have been discussed prior as this will be monthly touching only the main issues in the autograph universe.
For the month of July 2016: With the All-Star break in full swing, lets review the current situation in the baseball market. The two big names…

In today's 24-hour news cycle, a celebrity's career can be undone in the blink of an eye. The story doesn't even have to be true in some cases, but if it is reported, the public forms its own perception, usually without all the facts. It can even go to trial...yet the presumption of innocence doesn't count in the world of public opinion. No matter what the jury concludes, no matter the final verdict....people's minds are…
